2006 F-150 Ford Truck Recall Notice

Have not got mine yet, but checked my vin# says there is a recall. The brake booster line can burst (especially after a misfire i think) causing little or no brakes which could lead to a crash.
The dealer will replace the brake booster line, but the engine has to be cool before they will do it, that's why it could take a 1/2 day to do if you drive very far to get to the dealer. I'm not going to worry about it until I get a notice, then will schedule at the dealer i trust (90mi drive).
Go to ford.com and do a search for "recall". Enter your vin# and see if it applies to your truck. Or here is the link Ford Recalls - Car Maintenance & Service Tips - Ford

I am almost positive it is only for the F150's with 5.4's.
I had got a notice awhile ago also but I have not taken it in and just got another notice for it.
MAY 2008 -- Ford is recalling 605,684 MY 2005-2006 F-150 and Lincoln Mark LT vehicles equipped with 5.4L 3-Valve engines. The brake booster vacuum supply hose attached to the intake manifold fitting may swell over time and lose retention force. This condition could allow the hose to become detached from the fitting during an intake manifold backfire. Should the hose detach from the intake manifold, several brake applications with power assist will be available before the vacuum reserve is depleted. Once the brake booster vacuum reserve is depleted, the driver will have foundation brake function, but with increased brake pedal effort. Reduced vehicle braking could lead to a crash. Dealers will replace a rubber hose on the brake booster vacuum supply tube assembly. The recall is expected to begin on or about July 7, 2008. Owners may contact Ford at 1-800-392-3673. This recall was the subject of a Preliminary Evaluation, PE08-001, conducted by the Office of Defects Investigation. 08V-208 http://www.lemonauto.com/complaints/ford/ford_f150.htm

I'm taking my in today to schedule an appointment. My VIN# is listed on the recall notice...and, by the way, my notice says "Recall Reminder" for Recall 08S05 yet the wife and I have not received a notice before this one. The first was either lost in snail mail or Ford's records are messed up.
