Pooling Ideas here....

I uave never really understood the use of two NP 205 cases for use as a doubler. In nicks case, just using the front 205 for rang box selection. The 203 range box has almost exactly the same low range, so why lug around the extra weight, and the added fab to mount the front 205 at a wild angle to get the front output out of the way?
Just for a winch? Heak there is a PTO option, if you really have to go there.
Winching giant trucks is not common, it just takes another giant truck to giver her a yank, and she is out. Winching is sometime a necessity, but over rated. Chances are these giant trucks are seldom alone, so having another giant truck is probably gonna be the case.
Also haviing a front 205 requires some pretty interesting linkages to get all of the cases shifted properly, and having them all twisted up, makes this a hassle at best.
If you are building a giant truck, then super low range gears may not be the way to go. 4:1 low / low range, and 6.72:1 gears is pretty low even with giant tires.
This will not do much for wheel speed. Gonna need to make some power to get that.
Nice to have, and a fun deal, but I rarely use low range in my front 203 range box. Usually the low range and the correct axle ratio is more than enough.
Get that truck on rocks (i am talking boulders, not rockwells) and the doubler becomes a reasonable idea, but I dont see a truck with 54 inch Michelins doing this.
Dont get me wrong, I like the idea of so much gear selection, but how practical is this gonna be for this type of truck?
have you decided on what the second t-case is gonna be? will it be another 205?

Not only would i do the double for a drive line drop, But also casue 54" tires are rather massive, i could see a 4hi 4lo combonation to turn them being good... With tires that huge.... Wheelspeed is not near as much of a concern, you basically drive right through whatever... No i dont think double low range would be necesarry... But if you look at all the trucks similar to the one im speaking of they all use either an aftermarket doubler unit. Or a custom made 205-205 or 205-203 unit, not neccesarily that exact set up, but double transfer cases... It is for a reason...

Yes Spendy being the key word there... I think to spendy though.... If it were something else i would consider it, but im basically wanting to build a big dumb mud truck... That occasionally will run a trail...
A Dream build would be a highly built 7.3l.... Rocks, 4links, and ags...
Hell i would go with 5 tons and the biggest set of ag tires i could find... But i do want to drive it on the street, from time to time, maybe make a showing at the import meets in town... Just for a pure wow factor... Then back to the barn she goes, until i want to drive through buffalo lake again... ...
