ICP Sensor replacement cost?

I have an 03 F350 with the 6.0 & $103k. I recently started getting the check engine light. The code is P2285 Injector control pressure sensor circuit low. A quick search on this site shows it's a common problem. My local dealer wants $500 to replace it. I'm curious to what other people are paying.

Just had ICP sensor replaced in 03 F250:
Part ~$220
Labor ~$90
Pigtail Connector ~$15
Total ~$330

But this was not at a Ford Dealership

I recently did mine. Remember these are Canadian prices

sensor-$150
Pigtail-$40
Labor-Couple beers
Total less than $200. I did mine myself.

I don't believe too many people on here would be willing to spend $500 to have someone replace the ICP sensor.

I just did it last weekend. It cost me about $135 for the sensor and pigtail off eBay, and an afternoon of my time (shade tree at best). There are plenty of write-ups on the internet forums to help you do it yourself.

But if you have the cash and no time to do it yourself, then maybe you should shop around for a better quote. If you'd buy the parts off eBay and bring them to the mechanic, they shouldn't charge more than 3 hours labor to do the work for you.

It cost me about $120ish CAN off ebay for sensor and pigtail. Mine was behind the turbo which was a pain to get at. Interestingly, after putting everything back except the coolant bottle I was still able to get to the ICP sensor with a socket a couple of extensions with a u-joint on it - If i did it again now I think I could do it from above and only remove the cooltant bottle and maybe the air intake pipes.... But it was a good excuse to pull and clean the trubo....

Anybody got the part numbers for the ICP sensor and pigtail? If I proceed with head studs and EGR delete in the near future then I will replace the ICP sensor while I'm at it.

Yes down below the turbo. I did mine from under the truck. My arms were bruised from the wrist to the elbow when I was done.

I Just Called Them With The Ford #s And He Crossed Referanced Them.if They Take There Time They Can Find It.some International Dealers Might Not Want To Take The Time To Help You But The One Here In Az Is Realy Good About Helping Us Ford Guys Out.i Also Buy The Filters From Them For Half Of What Ford Wants.

i just got done doing my wifes 03 F-250 about an hour ago. the part cost me $151 at the stealership, and i paid another 10 for the 27mm deep socket. i will tell you what a PITA job it was. i wouldn't even wish this job on my ex-wife. your arm will definately get scratched up trying to get the bolts loose for the heat shield. another good idea for room is to take the resevoir off so that you can get your arms doen to the sensor plugs. i did mine from the top and bottom, but some people sya it is easier from the top or bottom. i really need a beer now!

International Part #s

Here are the International Part #s if anyone is still interested:

ICP Sensor - 1845274C92
Pigtail - 1850712C91

Quote I got was $91 for the sensor and $21 for the pigtail - MUCH better than $250 from Ford

Is the pigtail required or can you just use the one that should be there?
