I figured as much but thought I might as well ask.

As for the steering shaft - it will come after the shock mounts, which will come after the 80's d60 is mocked up, which will come after I figure out the leaf hangers, etc.

So yeah - no motor for a while still and I might as well do the hydroboost now as well...

i think he is trying to one get a new front axle or 2 get his old one out and put the 60 he has in as his 44 push pull steering is not going to cut it...

and trying to collect parts, because that is what he needs more parts!

Thinking the Government stimulus plan is working is like thinking that taking water form the deep end of a pool and dumping it in the shallow end will raise the water level of the pool.

Chasetruck, on my thread you had posted that you were looking for the aluminum mount for the clutch pedals and master cylinder. If you are just looking for the piece that holds that master cylinder they are the same size that was use in the dakotas.

Hey guys. It's 1 am and I am still alive! Tired, but still alive. I spent the weekend driving all over southern california buying parts and things! I got to the shop about 9 PM today to unload the spoils of my weekend and I noticed my buddy finally had time to cut the boxing plate for my steering box area. So I unloaded the truck and them played with that for a bit. I got home at 11:30 soooo excited to share about my splurge this weekend that I've spent 1.5 hours on other forums so far. And after $3500 or so gone and I just go back to PMs here and a buddy told me he's lined up a front d60 for me - so I gotta bleed a little more...

Anyways - I'm too tired to go into it now so I'll be lazy and link to another site. My screen name is the same so this should be easy to follow.
Desert Rides • View topic - swap meet

I'll explain more in the morning - it's bedtime now!

4wydnr - thanks for the info on the pedals. I had already heard the dakota thing and after a few trips to the junk yard I had nothing and luckily came across a set out of a ram online. I got a the set of pedals (for an auto - but same setup) with the aluminum thing for $28 shipped to my door. Should be here tomorrow actually.

Unfortunately - yeah. It will be the replacement for the ranger (see gallery) that I don't have time to throw at anymore.
Build thread on that one coming later. It will stay sitting at the previous owner's house until I can tow it home with the crew. Or if that take's too long and he kick's it out it'll sit here and I'll hopefully have some self control...

Thanks. My internet course is short. 3 words really - practice, practice, practice - hahaha.
I have friends that make my welds look like a bling monkey did them. I keep welding and welding trying to get as good as they are and the more beads I lay down the coloser i get. I now have to practice up on aluminum welding again since it's been years since I have done that and I have a few things (dash, etc.) for this project I need to weld on.

i was going to ask where you would keep this new truck but if he lets you keep it there that is great. now all you need to do is get the ranger out of your shop and you MIGHT have enough room for it there.

Ok - slight update.

I didn't (couldn't) do much work last week because I have been on hold waiting for a buddy to cut and bend the 3/16" boxing plate for the steering box section. I was also working on locating a d60 and running the crews at work because my boss is in Europe for 2 weeks.

After spending a TON of $$ this weekend (see a couple posts up) I got back to the shop at 9 last night to unload and notcied my cut and bent piece had been put the trough the mail slot in my shop. I unloaded me recent hoard of parts and got to fitting the plate a bit. Unfortunately I had to move the rubber body mount to get the plat where I wanted it, so that sucker got drilled out. The cool thing is I can re-use it as is by just doing a longer through bolt.

So after the shop I get home to brag about how much I scored this weekend and I found a PM saying a guy has located a d60 front for me (thanks Dave). Oh boy - time to shuffle some funds seeing as I emptied the bank buying parts for the new supercab project...

Anyways - I'll work on that for a bit. Here are some pics of last night.
More to come as I can now start fitting this plate and getting the steering box in for good!

I'm kind of confusted. All welds on my truck are TIG welds. Hopefully they aren't so crappy they look like MIG or stick to some. Granted I had a bit of gap filling to do based on the contour of that dodge frame section so there is a bit of nasty and fill in some spots. Still all TIG though.
