Installing Header and Duals on 226??
I'm going to need a new exhaust before to very long and was considering installing a header and dual exhausts on the 226. Does anyone have any experience with this. I'm assuming I would have to fabricate a blank plate for the intake manifold when I seperate the intake from the exhaust manifold. How loud and what kind of sound could I expect with the header and Smithy's mufflers. What length muffler should I use??
Just thinking out loud!

You might not have to fab the parts... but you might want to because speed parts are hard to find for the 226. but you could search the classified parts section on HAMB.
Classifieds - THE H.A.M.B.
There have recently been a few speed parts there. There is also a guy that splits the exhaust manifold adversited in there somewhere.
good luck

Thanks, Red's Headers actually sells a header for it for just over $200.
Has anyone heard one of these set up this way. I have heard some newer model six cylinders that have dual exhausts that sound kind of high pitched that I wasn't too impressed with. I would hate to go that rout and then not be pleased with the sound.
