stalls at lights

hello i have a problem with my 1998 ranger stalling at lights it will start right back up.sometimes going on the hwy it feels like im pulling another truck seems to loose power if i play with the gas pedal i can get to run good again
i changed the fuel filter plugs[all 8] wires.air filter. i havea light on that reads speed control sensor and running rich.wondering about the cat conv.or 02
please help

Hi, welcome to the site!

When dealing with a modern fuel injected engine, the first thing you need to do is have the codes read, that eliminates guessing. Your truck would be OBD-II so it requires the appropriate code scanner. Many auto parts stores such as Autozone will scan your truck for free in the hopes that you'll buy needed parts from them.

If you indeed have an o2 sensor problem, that will show up in the codes. It's possible that you do have a plugged cat from the symptoms you describe, but I don't believe that cat problems will always show up in the codes, only other problems that may be caused by a plugged cat. Get the codes checked, and we can go from there...

thanks t dan the problem was the 02 truck fine as is the fuel problem
