This is it people! The last truck picture contest of 2008 as far as I can tell right now.
1) Entries must be 25 five years old or older (1983 or prior). 1a) Classic is defined as "A special interest vehicle in it's own right" 1b) Antique is defined as "Restored as nearly as possible to it's original condition except for interior or drivability modifications or where the original engine is not available or practical" (very loosely enforced). I wouldn't exclude a street rod if it's nicely done...
*Please don't enter a truck that has already placed first in one of the other contests this year - let's spread it around, okay?
2) Must have been the property of the person entering the truck in the contest at the time the picture(s) were taken.
3) This thread closes for entries MIDNIGHT NOVEMBER 30 2008 as observed in Memphis Tennessee (central time).
4) Beginning 1 DECEMBER 2008 "TOP TEN" picks will be accepted in a SEPERATE THREAD for that purpose, and will continue for TWO WEEKS.
5) UNLESS a "Tie Breaker" is required, the top ten finalists will appear in a new thread which will be a poll as soon as the ten finalists are determined. THE POLL THREAD will have a poll in it that will be active until MIDNIGHT DECEMBER 31 as observed in Memphis Tennessee - or as close as I can get it. (THAT'S RIGHT! NEW YEARS, CENTRAL TIME)
If there are any questions, doubtless we will work out solutions as we go, but I hope we can hold to the timetable as I've laid it out - it will give us just that little bit more to see on New Years.
Pass the word!
I wanna see a lot of those fine trucks out there....
That's me and my 1965 American LaFrance 900 series 1250 GPM (gallon per minute) pumper. It's in original condition and it all still works. I've even used it to put out a grass fire on the side of a highway one day. I was passing by, saw a fire, stopped, turned on all the lights, and put out the fire with the 500 gallons that are on board.

Here is my 1973 F100. I bought the truck in March of 2004. It is originally from Arizona, so rust wasn't an issue with it. It actually needed very little restoration-mainly just a new paint job, which I had done in November of 2004. I have put maybe 1000 miles on the truck since I bought it. It mainly sits in the garage, and only comes out on sunny summer days. My favorite thing about the truck is probably the color(2-tone brown and cream is my favorite 2-tone combo). I have tried to keep the truck looking as close to original as possible. The engine is a stock 390 and it has a C6 AT. It has power steering and manual brakes, AC is a dealer installed add-on.
This is my 1953 F100. It's highly modified and updated, but keeps the 'Old School' charm. The highlite of all the mods is the EFI 434 cubic inch 'M' block with Aussie Aluminum Heads. The motor was built by Tim Meyer of Tmeyerinc.com, one of the FTE sponsors. I did my own EFI conversion using 93 Mustang OEM, 2004 Cobra, some aftermarket and some custom made parts.

Unfortunately - YES it has to be a ford. But that is one fine restored engine you have there, I can tell you have a lot of love and respect tied up in it and the firefighters traditions...
Money only goes so far - you have to have a lot of heart and soul to do what a fireman does for a living.
Specs:
1979 F100 Custom
514, .080 over X 4.15 stroke, BG 4500 1195 cfm
Roller C6 with red clutches
narrowed 9" with 4.56 gears
tubbed with 33X15X15 Goodyear eagles
ladder bars
What grabbed me: I grew up with dad that spent the the 60's and early 70's drag racing out in southern california so I have a great appreciation for older vehicles. I loved the truck from the minute I saw it for sale and thought it would make a great/different race truck.
Personal History: I bought it for $1200 bucks off a vultures used lot when I was 15. The paint was faded and oxidized, it had a pretty fresh 300 with a crappy 4 speed. I drove it to high school for 2 years before I got smashed into, crumpling the box pretty bad. Ever since it has been my money pit. This past winter it got 3" lowering I beams, all new interior, ladder bar rear suspension, new motor, new trans, and a roll cage. Been a best of 11.86 this year with lots of bugs still.
