That's awesome! A collectable ford with a cummins turbo diesel - best of the best!
It took a long time to load the video with dial up, but was well worth it.

Here's our little '41 :)

Sorry, sorta wandered off the reservation Hope you enjoy:

Here's the Rolling chassis when it was nearing completion

This is our 1941 1/2 Ton. I built this for my wife who is currently battling her SECOND Cancer.

The Chassis:
Stock Chassis, 4" Drop front axle, Posie Parrallel leaf springs bouncing a '79 Granada 8" rear end. ECI Disc brakes up front on granada rotors. Pirate Jack POWER brakes with electric vacuum pump.

The Drivetrain:
Original Flathead 221, bored and built to 239. The crab distributor and timing cover replaced with a '49-'53 style cover and an MSD Electronic distributor and blaster coil, extended '49'53 commercial water pumps and crank pully.
C-4 Automatic transmission from a 68 Mustang.

The Bed:
Oak boards stained with a cherry stain, stainless steel strips and bolts.

The Electrics and Misc. :
Ron Francis Wireworks 'Express' wiring, Clean Swipe (Newport Engineering) windshield wipers, Nu'Relics power windows with Hotronics switches, power cowl vent from Watson streetworks.

Body Mods:
Patch panels and cross member in the bed box. Rear Roll pan fabricated and filled with license plate box and '39 Ford LED tail lights with 'Rapidfire' from 'Shiney Hiney'

Lots more FUN stuff, but that should be enough to 'chew' on for a bit

Oh my God...

The back-story makes this truck, and I see the "Cure for Cancer" bow on the tailgate...

Mister, you've got a truckload of heart aside from the truck itself! Tell us as much as you can.

DO YOU GUYS SEE THIS????

Regardless of the reason............it's an awesome build. I lost my wife to Lung Cancer. She'd have loved this truck.
Thanks GW for the heads up.

Thank you for your kind words !

Thought I'd post of picture of the only trophy I care about for this truck. I've had each individual who has had a part in the final assembly sign the firewall with a pink paint stick. THAT'S the only trophy I care about Thanks to SO many !

I personally think this one should have an artical written up about it, and how & why it came to be. but where to feature it?

Have you thought about contacting the American Cancer Society to see if maybe it can become a feature story there, or be part of parades and things like that? As a promotion for cancer awareness and prevention, not to mention finding a cure I think it would be an absolute show-stopper!

Here's a link if you want to look into it:

GW thank you

When I started building this truck (before my wife's most recent diagnosis) We had agreed upon the theme for it with the idea that we souldn't go to shows and stand around talking about Cancer all day, but if it encouraged ONE person to get a mammogram who hadnt been getting them, then it was worth it.

Once I started building the truck, it seems everyone started noticing and wanting to be involved. Even vendors, Ron Francis wireworks new catalog even has a little picture and blurp in it with the promise that now that the truck is finished they want it on the cover of their next catalog. The National Street Rod Associations magazine 'Street Scene' published a breif writing my wife submitted on the truck a couple months ago. The local newspaper and the local TV folks all have been around. I do plan to have the truck at area 'Cancer walks' and events, it does seems to draw attention.

Here is the local TV blurp that ran:
Classic Car Against Cancer - West Virginia's Eyewitness News

And here are the two local newspaper articles that ran:
Charleston Daily Mail - West Virginia News and Sports - Kanawha County - Truck rebuild is a homage to man's wife*

and:
Charleston Daily Mail - West Virginia News and Sports - News - Enthusiasts work together to create breast cancer awareness truck*

We've just gotten the truck finished, but we feel the truck has a lot of work to do yet, i.e. representing etc.

Thanks again

Hands down to 41WV; I can't even imagine posting a challenge against such a heart loving / caring ride like that. AWARNESS is the best Prevention. Thanks for the story....

This(41) should have been a separate entity. Not saying it should not win...It's got my vote because of my loss & it's a cool truck( and my wifes name was Nancy also), very cool truck. but don't feel diminished guys. those that posted worthy rigs aren't less worthy.....hell, I'd kill for any of them!

Wolfie.....maybe you'd start a best Tribute truck contest...cancer, firemen, cops, 1'st responders, Veterinarians, Foster Parents ...? Just a thought.

Guys, I agree with Lenny, let's just withdraw the '41 and wait for a more appropriate catagory for it. I'm already a multi-year member/supporter of FTE anyway . And like I stated in an earlier post, the firewall is my trophy on this truck. Not that it's that great a truck, or not that great a truck, but I made myself tear up reading about it again .

I just hope everyone enjoys the truck for what it is, a sweet little ride that may mean a little something different to all who see her.

Thanks for the opportunity.
