Yeah - but what you truly love just gets better all the time.

I know that's been true for me....

I've seen those rims before - BOY? You got some deep pockets, or what?

What we need to do is talk at him and get it in here - it is definitely in the "IMAGE" of what I hoped to find in this 'show' and his truck is one that deserves a lot more than the few shots and limited write-up/treatment it was given. I FOR ONE would like to see more of it and know a lot more about it.

Being that you feel that strongly - I nominate you as a point of contact and fellow instigator.

GO GET 'EM, TIGER!!!

I WANT to see that ride here..... Let's make it happen
You're in charge of that

But he has to enter it himself.

PS: If you know someone with a restored or classic FORD TRUCK (in the forums or out) now is the time to holler at them. I can't spam the forums here with announcements, and so far the PM broadcaster is off-limits for this purpose. There is only so much I can do without making the moderators mad at me....

But there must be a truckload of people on these forums who would love to be a part of this last contest this year. How can we tell them about it?

From the reaction to what has gone before the one overwhelming complaint has ALWAYS been that they just did not know in time...

THAT

- is why this one will run for so many months.

Now, I could turn right round and simply ask "Help me", but I have done so a few times. Perhaps as it gathers speed more people will want to play.....

*winkezzz*

YOU are seeing all the fun from the outside. Imagine how wonderful it is to have something to do with it, and see it work out....

I've heard word from L. Mantta. His machine got ruined by a traffic wreck, but I hope he had pictures of it before it happened. They still count, and I hope it can be saved anyhow.

Specs and more pics in my gallery.

What grabbed me: These 70's F-series trucks are my favorite trucks of all time. They are the toughest and best looking in my opinion. I especially like the short boxes.

Personal history: My father had a few of these as I was growing up and I always wanted one of my own. I set out on a mission in 1991 to find a 73-79 short box to start my project. I found it on a farm in Cadillac Michigan with 75,000 miles, bought for $1,800.00 and began building the drivetrain to use at the sand dunes. In 2003 I restored the truck with a 2WD body from Georgia and began racing and showing the truck on a regular basis. "Driven Daily and Raced Weekends".

Good Times: Every time I get in the truck

DO IT! All projects start somewhere, and sometimes it's the 'before' that makes the 'after' worth doing...

Then again - one of the oldest trucks I've ever seen is probably still in the field where I saw it.
(It was a chain driven 6X4)

Its not the prettiest lookin thing but it does me good.
What grabbed me about it was that when I bought it the po had put a 428 in it and had already upgraded the steering from the power assist.

Personal story of this one is it has seen a lot of abuse and neglect. I saw through alot of it when we went to buy it. It has had three different motors in it in the year that ive had it. The first was the 428 and it threw two rods two weeks after I got it. The second was a very tired 352 that we pulled from an old farm truck to get it by till we could build a better one. I bought a 390 off my buddy that he had in his garage. We rebuilt it and put it in there and had to tear it all the way down two more times before we could work the kinks out of it. I also love these years of trucks and have wanted one for a very long time.

Excellent write up, in my opinion anyway that is the way to tell the story - set down the basics, and specifics that are known, but by all means tell the heart and guts story...
