The traffic lights are like rubies, emeralds, and amber - blinking on and off. With stars overhead.....
The roads stretch out like lines illuminated by the streetlights and houses off into the forever, a geometric display made by man in concrete and asphalt, augmented by lights.
It's mesmerising, whether stoned or not. Many times after I could not be stoned anymore I have gone to that place, and the effect is the same. Scintillating points of light in many colors, fascinating me....
Unfortunately it is in San Diego, far away from here.
There are no hills in Memphis.
For that reason alone I think I need to leave this place - it has no beauty like that.

I'm beginning to puzzle over different ways to connect THIS thread, the TOP TEN PICK thread, and the finals. Maybe I'll come up with something that works a little smoother.
It helped a lot some time ago when we went looking for all of the contests we did so far to have links connecting them all. So does a straight forward thread title.
There almost ought to be an index of them somewhere, but I don't see how a thing like that could be updated except by an admin.

Wolfie, to simplify voting, could we maybe have all fotos on consecutive pages, w/o having to view every page. The FTE site drags like crazy on my 'puter, and I have broadband...

I've done something like that before, and the simplest way to do that is to make links to each entry. It takes time for me to work that magic though - since I'M ON DIAL UP!
Oh yeah - faster than a speeding mollusc.....
Another problem is that some picture host sites deny images when they use too much bandwidth in a given space of time. We may see blanks where we know very well an entry was posted...
Maybe Al Gore had something to do with THAT part of the 'NET. Ya think?
If we find missing pic's this time around, I think we should note down the sites that do that.
It seems to me "PHOTOPHUCKIT" is one of them.

In all honesty - the best and most reliable images over the last year+ that we've been doing this are those that have been uploaded to FTE user galleries. THOSE don't mess up for unexplained reasons, they just show
*Which might make me sound like an FTE shill, but I DO know those images work. You have no idea how tuff it has been at times to find stuff and make these contests work out.
That is the thread where we will pick out our ten best choices to go into the final contest poll, listed by truck and owner. Noting the post number in the original thread (this one) is also helpful.
