Is this the plug your talking about? This is for a '04 3V 5.4. almost $12 each at autozone.

i believe that denso part # is for the 5.4 2v all the pictures i've seen they look like a normal plug not our wierd plug but i did find these the champion looks like the one piece design:

I looked at an IT20 Denso plug and it is not for the 3V 5.4. It list for the 2006-2008 Vin:5 but it is made like the 97-04 plug. the Champion #7989 is the only 1 piece plug.
