I have a 83' Bronco with 300-6, where does the yellow wire off the alternator go to?

Assuming you have an external regulator and a dashlight rather than an ammeter, the stator wire goes to the "s" terminal on the regulator. If you do not have a dash light and instead have an ammeter, the stator wire from the alternator is not used.

I have a Amp meter, so I can just take the wire off the alternator and forget about it? Kinda funny that mine even has this wire...... I wonder where the other end goes......

Think so. If your regulator has four terminal tabs, only three should be used. The "I" terminal should not be used. On an indicator light system the "I" would go to the indicator light, the "A" is a 12 volt source, the "F" is the field current that goes to the alternator, and the "S" would be connected to the stator terminal at the alternator. On an ammeter system 12 volts from the ignition switch is directed to the "S" tab; and the stator terminal on the alternator is not used. If your alternator stator wire is going somewhere it must be to something that needs a 12 volt source only when the engine is actually running. If everything is working OK wouldn't worry. I would like to know too where the yellow wire goes though !!!
