Hey guys.... I've obviously got a wiring problem. I have no radio power, and my dash lights do not work. Every other electrical system in the truck operates normally. I have checked every fuse in both boxes. Are there any inline fuses? I have no clue where to start, any suggestions are appreciated!

 

I just replaced "another" Ignition Switch on my 87 F150 last night, cause the radio lost power and my ABS light was on for no reason and I had problems starting the truck. Everything is fine now, except I'm not happy with the quality of the ignition switches I've run into thus far.

we have a 2002 f350 super duty with the 7.2 diesel
we've replaced wires and injectors on the right bank.
the mech found that the ac was rewired wrong and redid it right but still while driving down the road 70mph, all of a sudden it just goes bang, like hitting something. but continues to run. like the motor has a sudden jolt
mechanic spent over 24 hours chasing wires but only found the alt bad. so replaced that.
also the whole wire harness on left bank (melted power wire in the left bank) which happened while pulling a 10,900 lb trailor, at night freeway speed!! it didn't run too good on 4 cylinders. freeway was only one lane due to construction
we dropped the trailor and limped to the mechanic that fixed it the next day
drove from mid CA to NM and back now all the gages quit and radio and windows and door locks won't work. then poof they come back on. one battery was replaced in AZ
but still has this intermittent dead gages etc
any ideas??

 

You are probably going to have to replace the harness. They wrap the wires together, and though the mechanic tried to fix what he saw, I bet he missed something.

Occasionally, my (aftermarket) radio will go dead, along with my power windows. Generally, its after my truck sits for any length of time (loike in the parking lot at work) so when i get in, it starts - but i cant roll down my windows or turn the radio on... A/C works, dash lights work, everything esle works, except the radio and power widnows.

 

the wire harness was replaced
we still had the issue of all electrical accessories going off
after replacing one battery. I was cking both batteries to see if they were loose and just tightened all the post just a bit more and no more power blank. now I get an engine ck lite. need to have the code ck'd

 

What year and model truck do you have? If it's a newer model, check the accessory delay relay in the fuse box.
