Multi quote button

Can someone tell me how to effectively use the "multi quote" button?

It has a + and - sign associated with it.

Do you highlight text?

Couldn't find anything about it in FAQ's
Thanks
Ken

I've never seen the - sign associated with it. The way I use it is just hit the multi-quote button Click the image to open in full size. at the threads you want to quote, then hit the quote button on the last quote and type in your responses between quotes.
