that is one hell of a deal if you end up with it. It seams a little fishy to me, but as long as he will let you come take a look at the truck and look it over i would think that its legit. Usually when it is a scam they dont want you to come see it, most of the time becuase they dont have it. But good luck with it non the less.

Anything is possible. Have him show title and ID. Both should match and be clear. If he can not produce both, then no deal. Or, if the title is on a couple of names, no deal. Unless all parties are present and ID'ed.

The truck is worth that much effort, definitely.

I typically have horrible luck, but maybe this time it's different. Once I hear back from the seller I hope to either go look at it myself or find someone I trust to do it (truck is 6 hours away from where I sit right now, but 2 hours from my folks). It's probably a scam, but I figured an email couldn't hurt.

Sometimes you can step in it.
From the picts i do not buy the 24K thing.
Picts allways look better than standing in front of it.
Truck has tires, carpet looks???, Also seems to be alot of rust under the hood. Something is off. (flood?, high salt area? Wags)
Worth a look!!!

Just my .02 beans.

Bill, your beans are appreciated so long as they are not red! I noticed the rust under the hood too, that did make me wonder. Truck is located in Boise, ID... still waiting to hear back from the seller.

Anyone desperate to make a sale would be contacting you ASAP. It does seem fishy to me, but hey, I have heard of people getting insane deals on used stuff so you never know. Just be careful, and keep us posted. Good luck to you, hopefully it all works out and you get it.

I'd show up with a certified check. If it is as stated, that's a heck of a deal! Check ALL fluid levels before driving it home, including differentials. Truck that old and that few miles may be low on fluids.

Rodney- yep that's the one. Those are the pics that are on the Geocities page he sent to me, I've done a lot of digging around trying to determine if the seller is actually legit. It's looking more and more like a scam at this point, as soon as he gets back to me I'll probably have a good idea. I'm expecting one of those "please send a certified check to my bank in Nigeria at which point I'll transfer the title to your name" type of deals.

Be prepared to be shocked... its a scam! So I got a response today from the seller:

Hello,

The truck is located in Brooklyn, NY. You can come and pick it up in person or i can ship it to your address, (shipping fees are included in the total price of $3,000.00).
Here is what I suggest: we will use financial department from cars.com. I send the truck over, you can inspect it, take it to a mechanic to check it out, drive it. If, by any reason, you will not be satisfied with it ( even though I can assure you that it is exactly as described), you can return it at my expense and ask for a full refund of your money, no questions asked. I think this is more than fair for the both of us.
If you agree, please provide your full name and shipping address and I will get everything started immediately. Afterwards, cars.com will invoice you the transaction details and payment instructions. All you will need to do is follow through with their guidelines.
I'm looking forward to hear from you.

Yeah, uh huh, sure buddy. Yes it's true, I was born in Idaho, but I didn't just fall off a potato truck!
