6" F350 lift

Hey-

I've been reading this forum for a while, but I'm running into a little problem. I have a 95 F350 PSD that I'm trying to run some bigger tires under, and I've been trying to find at least a 6" lift kit for it. Everywhere I've looked only seems to go up to 4". Does anyone know of someone that carries a 6-8" lift, or would the 6" kit for a F250 of the same gen work? Or is it just easier to go with a custom kit?

Wow... I don't know how I missed that one. I've been searching to internet for a few weeks. Appreciate it. How "soft" are the softride springs?

they are very nice, my truck rides better lifted then it did stock. the springs are progressive rate so they give a soft ride but dont sacrifice towing capability. people claim you cant tow with a lifted truck but i do it all the time. and the best thing with skyjacker is a lifetime warrenty, no questions asked.
we were 4 wheelin at an offroad park and my buddies f-150 slip off a boulder and busted his front shock mount clean off, called skyjacker and they shipped him a new one for free, no questions asked, didnt have to send the old parts back either.

If your wanting to lift your 350 you should consider a shackle reverse kit (sky or ORU makes kits) for the front and lift springs for the rear. The shackle reverse in the front will provide lift and a better ride. For an even better ride use 99 and up front springs but its gets a little custom using them (springs are longer than OBS). But from what everyone says the ride is superior.

I'm planning on using the Sky shackle reverse kit as well, simply for the ride quality, and I'd like to add probably 4-6" lift on top of that with the springs. Should put me at 7-9" lift. I'm trying to get to around 37-38" tires.

Use the Sky kit but then add super duty front lift springs. Rear for that matter as well. There is a lot to read about on this issue over at TDS.

ranch, you only have 3 inches of lift, and the bumpers help your clearance in the front.
but if you look at your pictures the tires just barely fit in there. the wheelwells are completely filled up. for a daily driver that is 100% ok, but for me thats not goin to work. if i were to take your truck offroading i would definatly blow both front tires and probably the back ones too. you have no room for suspension travel in a performance situation. and i would probably bet that if you jumped your truck all 4 tires would kink your fenders. so to say "you're tired of hearing that it cant be done" is a little harsh. I'm not saying it cant be done without more lift, all i am saying is that to get the max usage out of your big tires you need the larger lifts to accomadate them.

in my opinion these are the minum heights and lifts for tires you should run.

F250's

stock- 31's or 265/75/16's
4 inch- 33's or 305/70/16's
6 inch- 35's or 315/75/16's

F-350
stock- 33's or 305/70/16's
4 inch- 35's or 315/75/16's
6 inch- 37's or 325/85/16's

again, this is my recomendations for tire/lift combo's that will allow you to get the full potential from your truck and tires and give yuo a good proportional wheel well spacing.

you can most definatly go bigger with each size lift but you lose mobility in offroad situations. hell, i had a 3 inch body lift on my old 250 and i ran my buddies tsl super swampers in 38-15.5 16.5's for a little while. i had to shim the crap out of the front bumper but they went on it and i drove it back and forth for a week. i wouldnt have taken it offorading as the wheel wells looked liek fishman's but with a hair less room. and the tires stuck out farther.

you are correct my truck is strictly a street queen and theres no way in the world i would jump her! she is my tow rig for the bronco so theres no need in setting it up for offroad... however be mindful that the places i haul my bronco to are far from on the beaten path. no its not an obstacle course but i have stretched the springs out on more than one occasion. we all use our trucks different and thats how we get all these different configurations. i think my truck is setup almost perfect for what i do (almost perfect b/c i still want air bags on all four corners!) and i love the look of the tires filling the wheel well. my way surely is not the right way for a lot of people including you, coon, but for a lot of people it could be just what they are looking for!

i'll get some flex pics next time i am hauling to a wheelin spot... GrayRock has some fun spots even in the parking area!

I have a 96 f350 w/a 6in suspension lift from skyjacker and i love it... the truck rides beautifully. I have been wanting to upgrade to 35in tires from my 33s... I hear if I go to 37in tires w/373 gears the engine would be working to turn those big tires

What gears do you have fishman? I doubt i will have rubbing problems because I have a similar setup (front bumper replacement etc) but I have heard that 37in tires + 373 gears really makes the engine work
