Its because of the economy and gas prices. If gas was cheap, these trucks will sell like hotcakes still. Trucks are just very practical utility, and now that they make them in 4 doors, why even get a family car? I bought my 06 mustang Roush at the hight of the mustang craze and paid $500 under sticker. Now they cant even get rid of some of the 08 stangs and the 09 year will be a short production of only 45K units. This is a buyers market for cars and trucks.

Impressive... sounds like you made out pretty good considering you Traded in a 8 year old truck which I am sure had at least 80,000-100,000 miles on it....

$17.55K is a very good deal! Congrats!

When I bought my 2006 back in April of 2006... The price was $25,200 for a nicely equipped F-150 XLT w/ tow package. Sticker was $33,600. No haggling -- price on window = what you pay... and at the time... that was a great deal.

I do however think the deals will still keep coming.... as others have said.. trying to make room for the '09's. And the fact that Ford isn't doing so well as a company..... need to make money somehow.. even if it means "giving" the trucks away... I recall back in June, one stealership up in NH had 10 2007 F-150 XLT's equipped just like mine.. S/Cab 5.4 3.73 LS tow-n-go's and were selling them for $20,000! -- Practically giving you the truck! Granted it was an '07 and been sitting for awhile... but you still get the 3/36K warranty....

Yep, can't wait to get the 5th wheel hitch installed and start fall camping.
The book say 1,000 miles before towing, so i am going to have to burn a few tank of gas in the next week or 2.
