Thanks for the previous pics Carpang. I went out to check on my truck and it seems it was done prior to buying it. Another pic of the Venturi Tee on my truck.

Someone help me here a bit....isn't the top line to the bottle a return line?? If that line is now tied into the suction line how does coolant return to the bottle? Am I missing something here or just being ignorant.

It is not a return line. It handles flow back and forth from the rad to the Dgas bottle. The other line does the same thing with the EGR. Now they are tied together.

Probably...YES.

I say that because on my Dad's '01 SD...he installed a new switch for the Cruise control. A year later...FORD had the massive RECALL on the CC. He called FORD customer service...and they reimbursed him for the cost.

Well i just got out of the emergency room with 2nd and 3rd degree burns to my arms and face when the boiling hot coolant spewed all over me....

and a huge laceration to my head from hitting the hood when i jumped....

the job is finally done.....

i just hope the 1500 dollars in e room bills was worth it....

I'm impressed by our local dealership. Called em last friday before 5pm and said my 08 job 1 just started leaking that day. They said bring it by wednesday at 7:30am to diagnose.

I was thinking that they wouldn't have a new radiator in stock, and/or wouldn't order one until they confirmed mine was leaking.

Well we dropped it off, didn't even mention the venturi tee. They called in the afternoon and said it was fixed and can be picked up. It has a new radiator and a venturi tee. All under warranty.

Just did the venturi kit install, wondering does this solve the radiator leaking problem or does it lower the percentage of a radiator leaking?

bump

I did this job the part was $5.60 at my local dealership. I tried to get it for free but it was a no go. Ford dropped the ball on this one. Someone figured out it woud cost more to issue a real TSB on this than to just let people's radiator die after the warranty is out and then we get to purchase a new part and serice to boot.
