325 is the width in millimeters

You also have to account for the rim diameter and percent side wall

285/75/R16

Right off my tire...

I know nothing about tires.... But isnt the 75 the width and the 285 how tall it is and the r16 is the rim size? Thats what i always though, but i could easily be wrong.

No, 285 is the width in millimeters. And 75 is the aspect ratio (the relationship between the tire height and width, the higher the number the taller the tire).

285 is the width in millimeters, 75 is the aspect ratio (the % of width equaling how tall the sidewall is), and the rim size will alter the overall height by making the hole bigger

You still lost......Anyway, back to BFG ATs suck. I ran a set of 265-65 18s on my 05 screw and I must say they were a pretty decent winter tire for icey roads, but not good in the summer. I was lucky to get 40,000kms out of them (mostly winter kms) soon as the roads melted they totally disintegrated. No need to cut them, the lugs pretty much just flew off randomly around the whole tire (and no i dont drive it overly aggressive).

hmmm.... thats odd i wonder if something they put on the roads could have done that...

Thanks for the info guys.... Learn something new everyday!
Ive got new tires for my truck, but there a lil big for the gearing if i could get my a'ts to do any better in the muck i would run them more, so its really just a way to pass some time and an excellent excuse to play in the mud.

Went thru two sets of BFG A/Ts. The orginal four were all replaced because of shouder seperations. The fifth tire was replaced and shortly after I replaced them with Bridgestone A/T. What a difference in the ride!

BFGs never again.....

thats one reason i didnt get bfg a/t's. i went with cooper discoverer s/t's 33". on a stock height f150 4x4. i couldnt be happier with them. i didnt even have to do any trimming or anything.

I personally think that the driver has to be damn near retarded.

I have 33's and my BFG AT's work ****ing great.

I'VE NEVER BEEN STUCK FROM LOSS OF TRACTION. I have been up to clay/water mix up to my doors and been through just ****ing fine.

It angers me that people bag these tires.

LEARN TO DRIVE.

Um sure... Yea i guess i dont know how to drive.... My bad.... But wait tell me what do you drive on pavement? Yea there ok on pavement, you use them in mud? Hmm..... Well ever used anything else in mud? I doubt it, just by reading you post its pretty obvious you dont know wtf your talkin about. Since i do have personal expierence with bfg's and other tires, in extremely similar situations, i can tell you that my current tires, are much better than the horrible bfg's.
If you cant handle the fact that bfg's suck something major, deal with and take you whining and hurt feelings somewhere else, we dont need that kinda crap around here.

Come on down to lubbock, ill let you rip through some mud, get your self stuck, then when i dance circles around you in my truck we will see how great your bfg's really are. Also have some Custom made 37" shovels made, just so you dont think tire size is a big factor. I dare you to show.

Hey, If they work for you thats great. but theres no reason to be bashing people, we're just bashing the tire we have had bad expieriences with. And from a high percentage of people that have run them, I hear they will never by them again. And I am totally retarded, doesnt mean im stupid enough to buy bfg ATs again.

Go through this with BFG A/T, not that crazy looking

Get stuck less than half way
Let me pull you out

This is how your tires look

Then I'll go through it just to shove it in your face.
