check out the thread "diesel prices" for more info. I have a few posts in there regarding WVO. I'd recommend that over biodiesel, but I run both. I also have some supporting pics in my gallery. Let me know if you have any further questions after reading all the posts in that thread - I'll be glad to help.
EGT's are close enough with either WVO or #2 that I never noticed the difference. Power and mileage are both a bit lower but for the price it doesn't matter.
I run SVO also. The most important thing is the pre-filtration process. Start with WVO that is good to start with. Color isn't as big a deal as clarity. Some stuff I run looks golden when I pick it up, and some is as dark as maple syrup, no problem as long as it is translucent.
If you're running WVO you have to filter the hell out of it and put it in a tank that will heat it to 180*F plus- that way the viscosity is lowered so it'll flow into the injectors, and through them.
if you're doing BD, you have to filter and convert it to shorter molecules, lowering the viscosity...
Both are approximately 10% less power, so i've been told, but if you're running it then you can afford more power parts lol.
I let my wvo settle for as long as possible. Then I run it through a Racor FH1000 with an aquablock element. I also run an aquablock filter on the truck, before it gets to my stock filter. Some say that a 10 micron filter is sufficient, but I wouldn't use anything higher than 2 microns.
