I tried the sand filter!!

I tried the whole sand filter Idea that I mentioned in another thread. it worked great, I used a pool filter that I converted to run heated wvo through. at first it did what Fabman said and stopped up on the surface but I turned up the pressurewhere the oil would aggitate the sand and flow through. it works great and filters the oil down to where it looked after it ran through about a 5 micron filter. the back flush system on the pool filter also worked great for getting the filtered trash out. I used about 5 gallons of methanol to do the backflush to avoid water contamination.

Great.............Another thing I'm going to have to try! ( since I have a sand filter laying around) Good Job!!! Next time you try it why not try back-flushing with Bio? It's cheaper than Methanol..............
