mud terrains, wheather they be swampers, boggers of bfgs are terrible on icey roads. It can be done but compared to bfg a/ts or general grabber 2s, you want the a/ts
I feel a/ts have their place, being a poor highschool kid I couldn't afford two vehicles and having swampers on my DD was not an option, I had alot of fun on my bfg all terains, yes most of it ended with my cherokee on a leash but it was fun none the less... Let the flameing begin...
BFG ats are the end all be all of suck arse tires.
Boggers do wonderful on "winter roads" you shoud see the brick sized hunks of snow they throw.
On ice it dont matter what you got. Its ice.
Sheet metal screws cure any ice problem.
A/Ts do have their place, on a "Mall Rated 4x4".
Oh BTW I never want "the ATs"

Not trying to be a jerk or anything but I see you live in south carolina....
I spend 9 months a year on hard packed icy roads and I have driven vehicles with all of these tires on them and yes it does matter what you've got!! Swampers Boggers and Mud terrains all bring the suck on ice compared to just about anything! I drive all over in my 78 with the swampers in the snow but I also have a set of 31'' remington all terains that are almost to the wear bars and they beat the tar out of swampers in town and on the highway
I will not deny that boggers/swampers are unbeatable in the powder as are just about anything vs. an at

Must be the "northern" ice. Cause here it gets 1/4 thick on the road. And the only thing not in the ditch is me and my Bogger equipped truck.
Ice does not "pack" must be snow you are referring to. Ice forms at temps below 32deg and is a solid. Makes a thin sheet on the road causing all vehicles (besides me) to slide off in the ditch. Does not pack only accumulates. Can be prevented from forming by the addition of salt which lowers freezing point to 27deg. Upstate SC-Recorded 1/2" on the road 2 yrs ago. Clear 1/2" thick ice on the road, also causing mass power outages and further chaos. No plow trucks could move, cops had chains on and were still in the ditch. It was a skating ring. I know ice.
I also know snow, in the mountains of TN and NC i regularly play in 8-12" of snow on tiny pig trails on the side of 4000 ft tall mountains. Got any mountains up there? Didnt think so. Now take your ats on the ice and slide in the ditch then take them into the snow in the hills and slide off a hairpin turn into a guard rail. Just because I am in the south does no mean that I dont know snow and ice.

Point taken, yes it is snow packed on to the road that I am refering to, maybe it is different up here but your boggers don't do you much good compared to to any tire with any kind of siping, unless of course you have siped your boggers, if so never mind. I can see where a bogger has a start at a good winter tire, being made of a very soft grippy rubber and all but it just isn't...
easy guys i do believe this post was about what makes a mall crawler a mall crawler.so lets move on with this post and not a debait on tires. mall cralwers equal lift not strong enough axles nice shiny paint never see any mudd no dents, dings or rust
