Plexiglass? Well, what kind of off roading do you see? I wonder how Plexiglass would hold up to being underneath a truck?
It's not a bad idea, I'm just wondering how strong that stuff actually is.
Well i was takin that into mind also but a 1/2in should hold up to quite a bit, and i see strictly mud and water, and some messed low maintenance roads, but i will never crawl rocks, trails, stumps, or anything along that, my trucks to perrrrtty for that haha, plus the bottom of my truck is about 33in off the ground so i wouldn't come in contact with to many things, and i'm talking plexiglass only under the engine compartment.

Hmmm. I would think a sheet of metal would be better for that. Seems like it wouldn't be real hard to fab something up that you can bolt on to your frame?

I thought that too, but i'd want it to be light and easily removable, plus it'd be nice to be able to see through it just incase, who knows, i'll probably never do it, i'm done with my truck for awhile, i'll soon be buildin a 500hp 13-1 compression motor, i hope...

I think 2wd wheelin' is just more of a challenge. More to try for, less ground to gain. :P

A few years ago I took a 2wd Dodge Ram wheeling. Took about a half hour to get up a huge hill. I think I hit the bottom of it going around 50-55mph. Bumpy ride up.

And at the end I drove into a huge puddle of water and had water up to my headlights. Killed the truck. Got it started but I didnt have enough traction to get it out. We had to rock alot and about 5 minutes of full throttle ( barely running though ) we drove out and called it a night. Haha. ( Not to mention it was like 1am. :P _

How would metal be any harder to take off? Just bolt it to your frame so all you have to do is take off the bolts and walla.

What motor will you be using to produce 500 horse? I'm assuming a big block?

Yeah it'll be a 390, bored .40 over with keith black 20cc step pistons which will give the high compression, and i'll build it up for nos so i'll be pushing more than 600 hopefully.

I don't have enough money for a project like that.

I already have my f-350 with no money to put into. And then I have my DD that needs a set of street rubber. Aswell as my jeep that needs body work and engine finished.

And on top of all that I have a 460 I was planning to build up.

All lack of funds. Haha.

Or a piece of rubber. Just flat flappy stuff. Most trucks have that kind of thing inside the fender wells. Between the well and frame to keep water out. I'm sure you could just do something like that lol.

Ha yeah, those are good project but yes it takes alot alot of money, just the body work and paint for my truck was $4500, and the motor was another $4500, but that's because a few things went wrong, this next motor should be around 455 stroker, i hope lol, and i hope not too expensive

I've sold off multiple projects already. Even ditched my go-kart project. :|

Trying to clean up the place.

Well I didn't read the whole thread, but we used to call em show trucks, and I would say chrome drive shafts, chrome shocks, chrome brake lines and more KC lights than a off road catalog make it a mall crawler.

chrome axle blocks make you a mall crawler! neon painted (or chrome plated) "custom fabbd" steering also makes you mall crawler (im talkin about the stuff on scary steering here) ... front axle blocks, 300" lift with 27" chrome chip foose wheels and 28" tires, chrome shocks, 44's on a dually? yeh few more mall crawler requirements
