Info on keys & fobs for those who care
I bought my 2000 Expedition used and it had one FOB (remote) and one key. I found out later that they keys are "transponder" keys which contain a chip and if you only have one, you can't make a duplicate without a trip to the dealer for a "reprogram." The dealer here wanted $130.00 for this (including the key, not including tax). They said it took at least an hour of labor (!!!!).
I found new keys on Ebay for 10 bucks and a new FOB (remote) for 15 (each was ~$5.00 shipping). I called around and found a locksmith with the proper computer to do the job. They charged 45.00 for the programming and 1.00 to cut the key. Now I have two working keys.
The FOB (remote) was even easier, the ebay dudes send me instructions on how to program them.
It's probably common knowledge around here, but seriously, don't pay dealer prices for this stuff! Even the locksmith wanted $30 for the key I paid $15 for shipped. And if you currently have 2 working keys, it's probably worth your time & money to buy 2 more, program them, and put them in a safe somewhere. That way, if you ever do lose yours (for example, if your 2yr old son throws them off the boat into a lake), you won't have to pay the dealer or locksmith programming fee (because if you have 2 keys, you can program your own easily!).

I have no idea but the one I got is a ford OEM part (not aftermarket manufacturer) so I'm guessing if yours can do it currently, the new one will be able to do it. HOWEVER !!!! most of the auctions say if you currently don't have remotes at all, it may be that your vehicle didn't ship with them. And if your vehicle didn't ship with remotes, you can't just buy one and expect it to work, it means there is something else missing in your vehicle, so you may want to look into that further.
