CruiserClass is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
Peeling clear coat

The clear coat is peeling on the roof of my cab and on the hood. The place on the hood started out really small and is now about double the size of my palm. Is there anything to do besides just get it totally repainted? The paint underneath is still sound.

You can have the panel redone. If you can find a good body guy he might be able to sand off the failing clear coat and just reapply a new clear.

Look, see these two tow hooks? They look like tusks. And what kind of animal has tusks?

Yeah, I'm having the same trouble on my hood. How hard would it be to re-paint those areas that are peeling, or should the whole hood be re-done?

That would depend on who does the work and how good you want it to look.

Also this would be a good time to consider a ram air or cowl induction hood.

Think I'll just save my pennies and get the whole truck repainted since its on the hood and the cab roof. However, is there anything that I can do to keep it from spreading in the mean time? I looked online and noticed a few spray can solutions, but I'm kind of leery of "mechanic in a can" type fixes.

I just checked with a local paint shop. $650 to paint the hood.

The ram air hood sounds better and better....
