On this day in 1878 - The American Bar Association was formed by a group of lawyers, judges and law professors in Saratoga, NY.
It is said the Statue of Liberty wept.
On this day in 1912 - Arthur R. Eldred became the first American boy to become an Eagle Scout. It is the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America.
Anyone here an Eagle Scout? Life Scout? I was not involved as a youth, but worked with my son who earned his Eagle award.
On this day in 1959 - Hawaii became the 50th state. U.S. President Eisenhower also issued the order for the 50 star flag.<!y2000>
Let us not forget our Hawaii chapter brethren.
On this day in 1996 - The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 was signed by U.S. President Clinton. The act made it easier to obtain and keep health insurance.
Now that has worked out just great, right?
And today is National Senior Citizens Day:
Holiday Insights : August 21 - National Senior Citizens Day
It is suggested you hug a SC today. I don't think I will do that because it seems they carry diseases. They are always dying of something, so best to keep your distance. Besides, I get tired of people coming up and trying to hug me all the time. Geez, go find an old person will ya!

i saw that one.....and if you look close enough you can see that there is a truck and a guy in the picture too....i know its hard to see but keep looking and you might just find it....

She was indeed quite the cutie. But I was supposed to be taking a picture of the truck, so the camera angle isn't the best to see her.
