2003 explorer won't start
#2
I dont have wiring diarams for an 03, but heres how the start circuit is wired on my 97. Your 03 is "probably" similiar.
On my 97 the ignition switch is wired to an interior fuse. Is the fuse on yours blown?
The fuse is wired to the "anti theft relay." When you remove the relay does it click? Not good if it does.
The relay is wired to the "transmission range sensor", which closes the circuit in park or neutral. If you shift to neutral will it start?
The transmission range sensor is wired to the starter relay.
And the starter relay is wired to the starter solenoid which is part of the starter.
I'm guessing that what you jumped is the starter relay.
Edit, forgot to mention that the fuse list in your owners manual will probably show the fuse as the "anti theft relay" fuse.
