Things are coming along thick and fast now!

The 53 is now starting to look like a truck now after putting on the front fenders and the radiator valance. Once all the engine internals are finished then the hood will go on. Stay tuned next week for another update on the 53, I hope you are not getting sick of it yet. Paul

Thanks for the PM, Paul. Those mirror stalks, are they longer than stock? I don't recall ever seeing them that long.

Looks fantastic, almost done!

What did you do on the grill to mate the headlight buckets to the bars? Mine are tack welded on, I was planning to weld them all the way around and clean it up so it looked like one piece like the 56 grill. That looks like what you did?

Looks like you are having fun, fun, fun! Thanks for keeping us up to date. It is nice to share in your accomplishments. Your truck is what I would call very " cherry".

Thanks guys for all the complements. The final stages are tormenting, I know the end is near and it makes me more eager to get it finished so I can drive it. I have waited nearly three years now, so a couple of weeks won't hurt. 53olderthanme the buckets seams are not welded, there still is the seams. So what I have done in the last couple of days was put the step plates and the supports from the flywall to the radiator support. Just made them out of aluminium tubing, flaten at each end, drill the holes. Will polish them later. Raerjim the mirrors are after market ones, not sure where I got them from.
