I went with the performance tune Don.I had to call superchips up and have them make an update for me. They had made an update for the 99 - 03 4.2L F150s but my exact computer calibration was not supported.
I would like to get a tuner for better economy, but I don't want to give Ford a chance to void the warranty.. I will have to wait another 3 years..

Don by federal law they cannot void the warranty unless the aftermarket addon is the sole cause of the warranty claim.

I know, but I don't want to give them the chance.. Besides the diesel is an expensive motor to replace..

I can understand that as well Don. Thosethings are not cheap. Shoot I am not looking forward to this december. I will have to put new tires on the truck. Just over a grand for 4 new bfg tires and remounting one of the old ones as a spae.

Don't get me started on tires...
I have been wanting to get rid of the Conti craps since day 1, but it would probably ring in about $1400 for 4 tires.. That is why I am still riding these junk tires..

I can ride my BFG all terrains until december but they wont get me through another winter.havent done to bad with them considering that I have put over 40000 miles on a tire rated for only 40000 miles. The one vehicle I am really dreading putting tires on though is the ambulance since it is a dually.

The ambulance isnt going to be a daily driver is It??
For that you can probably get some used ones at a salvage yard to save a few bucks..

Fortunatly it will never be a daily driver again. The only way I could do that Don is if they had 6 tires there and they all were in an E load range. The only reason I need the load rated tires on it is because of the fact it weighs close to 10000 pounds.

Still pondering the brake up-grades to fit the rim cavity and accommodate the increased rotating mass. From what I have read in the FTE, the F-550 has an axle adapter plate to mount the calipers to what otherwise is an F-350 axle. Then still need to find a rotor that has the 8x6.5" bolt pattern, for as I understand it these axles are 8x170mm bolt pattern.

Those are the way to go if you are always carrying heavy loads..
My 18" E rated tires are good for what I do..
They just have to support my Fat Arse...
