Fuel tank leaking?

My front fuel tank leaks only when its full so I have been running it half to three quarters full, I would like to fix it but does anyone know what I need to fix before I take it apart? Am I going to need to replace the tank or is it just a part? Thanks for any info.

Mine did the same thing. It turned out to be mud on top of it. Rusted the top out pretty good. Ended up replacing it.

double check the filler hose and make sure its not leaking. it doesnt do it when you fill up does it? it could also be the rollover vent valve on top. you may not need to buy a new tank. just have to drop it and see.

I've had both of my tanks "leak" this summer, but only when full and parked in the sun on a hot day. After crawling around under there, I came to the conclusion that they had both burped out of the vent lines. Pretty irritating to get a big fuel mess on the driveway. I haven't done anything about it yet.
