Wow, do people who drive pickup trucks have a habit of hanging off cliffs and bridges? Scary stuff. Reminds me of the good old days when I used to drink.
the chevy the ball is disconnected its hanging by the safety chains, look where the trailer tounge is hanging compared to the truck, although i don't think that was the intended use of the safety chains. as far as the dodge WTF! how the hell did they manage that one
No, it's not the chains holding it, it's still connected to the ball. That happened in 2002 and at the time the news reports and other pictures were all over the net.
I can't figure out the Dodge. It don't seem like the weight of the cab and engine could have bent that frame like that. I'd like to know the whole story behind that one.
well i know that the receiver hitch on my truck is rated at 12,000lbs 14,000 WD and we all know the actual breaking point of anything is much higher than there rating, i would imagine the ball would break before most hitches, them fully welded try ball setups are pretty damn strong. esp the 2 5/16, just imagine the torsional force on that ball being twisted like that, that Chevy is probably 1,000 lbs lighter than our trucks as well. i bet theres some seat cleaning to be done in both of them trucks. although i dont think it matters in the dodge, that chevy is probably salvageable. if somone could dig up some more info on that dodge it would be realy interesting to know just how the F* that happened
