Question engine id

Hi , I just purchased a new to you 56 ford f 100, it has a 6 cylinder motor in it and I want to find out what it is. The casting on the side of the block reads c3 ae 6015 ac then on the side of the block near the water pump there is a flat spot that has 3c27 on it. The intake manifold bolts on the side of the motor, the valve cover has bolts on the side of it not in the middle, I think it is a 63 223 motor, how can I be sure? thanks for any replies John

sounds like one to me. If the exhaust manifolds are on the driver side, I believe it to be just that.

3C27 = cast on March (C) 27, 1963 (3). The same block was also used in 1964.
