Since having dealer work on my brakes: replaced booster and brake light switch. While at the deal the changed all the fluids. Now my EX has been intermittently stalling when stopped in drive with AC running. When it stalled the OD light was flashing. Now we have noticed that the EX is sputtering when stopped while in drive and may stall. Also, itermittently seeing the the ABS light come on. Today it stalled and now the CEL is ON. Any assistance regarding my issues would be greatly appreciated, this is the primary vehicle used by my wife and kids. Thanks in Advance!!!
The IAC is a common problem on the V10, which will cause stalling at idle. On my truck, it was not intermittent like yours, so it may be something different.

I went to Autozone and they read the codes, telling me it is showing P02720. I am not sure what the part is or where the best place to purchase, if I can replace.
Wow...I would clean the maf sensor first. These problems mustbe related I think. is it an oiled air filter?
perhaps a vacum leak in the back firewall area.
just an Idea. Good luck bro!

P-codes are 5 digit numbers. Either P0XXX, or P1XXX. Double check what the code was.

Hmmm...let me think....ah ha..I GOT IT ! There is something wrong with your truck !
Seriously, you need to take a deep breath, forget what you THINK you know about auto technology...and then take a look at an EXCURSION shop manual.
What you will find, is that you dont really have a truck. You have a VERY complex system of inter-related computer devices that happens to be on wheels. Sure, we back-yard mechanics can change springs, brake rotors, and perform other simple maintainence and repair tasks that those of us who are familiar with automotive mechanical devices, can accomplish. Sure, IF you understand the uses AND LIMITATIONS of an OBD II "reader", you may be able to replace some of the computer's sensors (again, the EX is NOT a truck, it is a COMPUTER that happens to have wheels).
In my own experience here in Arizona, and in So. Calif, I have, without exception, found Ford dealer people to be VERY competent, taking care of the rare times I have brought problems to them, quickly and effectively.
I am very disappointed to read so many "posts" from guys in here, who state they have not been treated properly by Ford dealers where they live.
Maybe if you went to a Ford dealer in your area, your experience would be more like mine ?
Or perhaps there is a garage near you NOT connected with the Ford organization, but DOES have familiarity with, and the complex computer analysis, to help you out.
Bottom line - I dont see the point of trying to do much "fixin" when problems such as yours show up. You may well wind up spending a LOT of money buying parts that will not correct the problem, leaving you worse off finanically than if you simply took it to a COMPETENT garage.
Sorry I typoed the code: Per Autozone the code is P0720 which shows as Output speed sensor insufficient input. Does anyone know where is can bye the part and have picture of where the part is located. I have been look and it sounds like this part is in the transmission.

Output speed sensor = tail shaft of the trans. Consult the Ford service manual for the exact location and R&R instructions.

The problem is getting worse, now the truck is stalling often. It seems to stall when in drive with ac running. When in reverse with my foot on the brake ac running, I then turned on the high beam of the head lights and it stalled (the OD light flashing). Able to replicate multiple times
Also, I have replaced the output speed sensor (Ford part# f81z-7m101-aa) regarding code P0720 and the problems are still there.
Can you put the truck in neutral and keep it running by giving it gas? If so it is most likely the IAC (Idle Air Control valve). My Ex did this one morning, would not idle at all. Had to drive it to Grand Junction Ford, putting it in neutral and reving it at stop signs. I plopped down $110 bucks for a new IAC and the problem stopped. Didnt even install the new part, the problem just cleared up and never came back. That was two years ago. Still have that damn IAC sitting around somewhere.
I would inspect for a vacuum leak as well. While the IAC can be a culprit, the fact that the dealership changed the brake booster can mean that a hose got kinked, torn or not put back on.
