Side Mirrors
Ok, so I have a 92 F150. The black plastic mirrors with chrome on the front. The passanger side mirror broke off at the pivot point, so I need knew a knew mirror. I have a set of those older style A-frame type mirrors off a 78 f150. But the holes in the top bracket are to close together. Is there a bracket you can get to fit the bolt pattern of the plastic mirrors?>

Get an aftermarket mirror. LMC Truck has them, also on ebay. They are about $70, but it will be new. If you go the junkyard route, don't expect it to work properly(fold in and out). I paid $45 for one from the JY to have it fail a week later. Then I bought an aftermarket one from BroncoGraveyard.

none of mine plastic fake motorized mirrors broke or anything i just want the look of old ones. And I came across the same issue, the black plastic ones bolts are bout 6" apart and the older chrome bracket for the A frame are about 4". Did anyone ever find an aftermarket bracket that fits?

IMHO the folding "flag" mirrors are "use it or lose it". We got a used OEM set that worked fine, but had probably never been folded, so they were REAL sticky. After getting it working, and folding it aprx. 4-5 times, the driver's one broke. I'd bet that if it were folded regularly, it woulda been fine. Replaced it with some aftermarket, eBay or LMC or Jeff's, don't remember. The thing about most aftermarket mirrors (for all vehicles, it seems) is that the glass shakes within the frame more while underway, compared to OEM. So that's a pain, but cosmetically, it looks just like the OEM, and the fold pivot works waaay better.
Bottom line - if you wanna fold 'em, get aftermarket; if you're satisfied with not touching the pivot, a used OEM pair might be preferable.
