Wrench Size to Bleed Brakes?

Hello fellow Ford drivers, Im going to be changing my brake lines this weekend and was wondering if you guys knew what size wrench I will need to bleed the brakes? I cant remember if its a 5/16, 3/8, or a 9mm? Thanks for your help.

I just changed my front calipers and I think I used a 3/8 wrench to bleed them.

Speaking of bleeding brakes, what is the best way to do this? Do you need 2 people?
I was going to just change the brake fulid.
I was going to do this to my 2000 Expy.
Thanks ~Gage~

Yeah its easier if you have two people so one person can pump the brakes while the other person monitors the fluid coming out the brake line. All your doing is getting all the air out of your braking system by unscrewing the bleeder screw on your caliper, starting your truck and slowly pumping the brakes until nothing but brake fluid comes out to get rid of any air pockets. Once you get pure fluid coming out of the brakes tighten the screw back up and your done. Make sure you do all four wheels, and start from the pass front, then go to pass rear, driver rear, and end at driver front.

It is standard right hand threads (clockwise to tighten). Not sure what you mean by caliper piston side.....

Gravity bleeding doesn't really work with ABS due to the valves being closed.

I've done it all the time have you have any problems with it getting pass anything you just start your vehicle and let it run. turn off the wall subject I was a mechanic my entire life not the perfect I'll admit that and a mechanic for the military for the last 10 Just some background. I just never had a problem with anti-lock stewing gravity bleeding I just did it on my 05 f150 fx4 but we all do things differently so I definitely I appreciate your opinion for sure thank you

I've never heard of gravity bleeding before. Thanks for the info! I've always used the bottle with fluid in it and a hose from bleeder valve to down in the bottle under the fluid 1 man method. Going to try the gravity trick tomorrow. Thanks again for your service to our country Sir!!!
GOD BLESS YOU my friend!

The best way to bleed your breaks alone will be with four things (a mason jar, fuel line that fits snug around bleeder valve about 3ft long, and your phone, proper sized wrench.) fill the mason jar about half way with fluid and put one end of fuel line in it making sure it stays on the bottom of jar place other end on the end of the bleeder valve.
Take wrench and loosen bleeder valve with fuel line attached to it.
Place phone aimed at mason jar and start recording video.
Go pump brakes I normally push to the floor ten times.
Watch the last 10 seconds of the video and see if there is any bubbles still coming out. If there are none tighten valve and move on if there are make another recording and pump the brakes until you get a video with none.
Once air is out tighten valve with fuel line still attached and on to the next one.

Note: make sure brake fluid fill cap is open and check to make sure it stays topped off after each wheel.
