Need more 7.3 IDI power, is it possible?

I have a 93 F250 with a 7.3 IDI with a Banks Sidewinder turbo and exhaust kit. Is there much on anything else I can do to get more power out of it?

I ask here figuring that someone has raced or pulled with a 7.3 IDI in the past and would know many ways to up the power.

Thanks, Andy

Is it intercooled? that would let you have some more power.
Are you having any pre-detonation problems? you might be able to turn up your boost some more, and even more if you have it intercooled.
other than that, there isnt much that i know of. doesnt mean it's not there...

No it is not intercooled. Not sure if a Powerstroke intercooler will fit / work. Banks intercoolers are just plain insanely priced. Not sure on the pre-detonation stuff. How can you tell? How can I turn up the boost since I already have a non-wastegated Banks turbo? I considered using a Powerstroke turbo since they produce 20 to 25 PSI of boost but I worry that much more than the 14 - 15 PSI of boost the IDI engine can handle. Does anyone know?

Thanks for the reply, Andy

they do NOT handle much more boost than that without some work. Fire ring the head, Head studs and Lowering the compression of the engine are necessary. If you go to the IDI forum theres a couple of guys who have done some indepth mods.
