what are TSB's and COP's? what should i use for penetrating spray? wd-40? rust buster?

Changed 'em at 45k per the earlier TSB (Aero-Kroil penetrant) and had absolutely no problems.

Too bad I had to sell her not much later than that...

with the way truck prices are...there isn't any reason you can't get another one when it's the right time


btw, is your sig supposed to say "V-Strom"? I thought they were V-Storms

TSB = Technical Service Bulletin. There have been at least two issued concerning plug removal.

COP = Coil on plug.

For penetrant, I believe the initial service bulletin recommended aerokroil while the last TSB recommended Motorcraft Carburetor Cleaner, if I am not mistaken.

I have seen some that indicated success with PB Blaster.

It's not a typo...it's spelled Strom" from the German word for "flow" (as in wind). An engineer from Suzuki Germany pitched the bike to Suzi to compete against BMW's "dual-purpose adventure" bike, whatever it was, several years ago.

While it's certainly not a Beemer, it's a great bike for the money!
