Help!! I'm almost ready to head down to the Chevy dealer because I have not heard if Ford has definitively solved this issue on their 5.4/6.8 engines. I know Ford have not taken responsiblity and the repair could end up being thousands of dollars and still not solve the underlying problem!! Which means I could spend another couple of grand if a another plug is spit.

Why should I NOT buy a 6.0 Chevy 2500?

i can see that one.. hi id like to trade in my perfectly fine truck for this p.o.s. over here because im scared its going to break. c'mon guy are you serious? if you know they need changed then change them! they did solve the issue. in late 03!! chevys have engineering flaws too bud!!!! and the repair costs a few hundred dollars btw. and id say 10% of the engines are affected by this? sounds pretty accurate to me...

Think about it, people come here with problems, and looking for answers to thier problems.

If everyone who had no spark plug issues came here and stated they had no issuees, The spark plug issue would be non existant.

Anybody whos has worked with threaded aluminum threads will tell you once you over torque them and they start to strip, thats about all she wrote. I honestly think improper plug changing technique is the problem even at the dealer. Theres just certain things I'd rather do myself, because I take the time to do it right and don't hurry. That is usually not the case when you pay someone else to do it.

Ever notice that plugs are usually blown after a plug change or being left untouched for a very long period of time.

6.0 headgasket, turbo, injectors, to name a few

7.3 cps, tranny's to name a few..

Torque is 13-14ftlbs or 160-168 inlbs, somewhere in there. I put a dab of nickel anti-seize on the threads and some dielectric grease in the boots ends.

I just got this socket set for changing plugs. MSC Item Detail=

Just a newbie response...

As you will find the GAS .vs diesel threads get heated pretty quick...and the Moderators try to extinguish the flames before they get to big.

IMO...it's all in fun!

No, it's not just an opinion. It's a poke in the eye

Like Biz said, the gas vs. diesel thing is rearing it's ugly head again lately...

Comments like yours do not do ANYONE any good.

Even in jest, it's not necessary.
