04 FX4 Screw rear sliding window stuck close

I haven't used that rear window for a while. I switched to open but nothing happen. Checked fuse (401), it's ok. 401 also controls front/rear passenger window, they are all working.

I'm assuming the rear window switch is ok. My question: Where is the motor for this sliding rear window? I followed the cable and it goes into the rear passenger panel. I checked the forum without result. Please help! Thank you.

on the Screw models you have to remove the back seat. There is a sound isolator behind the seat, and behind that isolator is the motor for that rear powered window. I have an 04 FX4 two, it does the same thing. I brought it in a while back and supposedly the motors they put in there get hot and burn out quickly, however I don't see Ford stepping up and fixing the situation. you can buy a new motor and replace it, but just to let you know I am on my third one.

FYI, if you have someone give a little push to that window while you are holding the button, that usually does the trick. however it really defeats the purpose if you have to have someone help you open a window every time.

I have the same problem. Seems dirt build up in the track and infrequent use will cause the window to stick.

I had the same problem. What I did was remove the back seat. You will find the motor back there. I removed the cover of the motor (for small screws) and then I manually turned the motor a bit. I then lubed the track the window slides on. Then put the cover back on and tried it. Worked fine and has continued to do so for 6 months.
Give it a try, I bet it works.

My back window did the same thing a few months back. It stopped working for about a month and then one day it started working again. I try to use it more often now to keep it from happening again. FYI, if your truck is still under warranty do not remove the back seat to try to fix the motor. When my window stopped working I was going to take it into the dealer an they said the repair would only be covered if the back seat had never been removed. Luckily the window fixed itself.
