Maf Conversion on 87 F150 Tach problems

A few years ago I installed a 95 302 into my 87. It ran ok on the stock 87 computer but idle funny and sucked alot of gas. I got a great deal on on a Maf setup off of a 91 mustang with A9L computer. The truck runs awesome but the tach isnt reading correctly. Its reading about 25% fast. I found a resistor inline on the 87 harness that I put inline with the tach signal coming from the mustang harness. Any ideas? It seams like I have a 6cyl tach in my truck.

Pin #7 of C208B is not grounded, it is grounded for 8 Cyl and un-grounded for 6 Cyl.
