Well, got a knock on the front door this morning bout 2:45 am. It was the local police. They proceed to inform me that someone has hit my truck. I look over on the street where I park it and it was in the neighbors yard.

Luckily one of the other neighbors was outside smoking a cigarette and witnessed the whole thing. The other driver was down getting booked for suspicion of DUI, leaving the scene and other charges. After looking at my truck I dont know how they drove away.

I dont know what to do with it yet, the rear axle has been shoved forward on the drivers side. I moved it into the driveway but who knows how safe it is to drive. The kicker is I just got it back from the shop on Friday after having new cab mounts welded in.

Darin:

THAT SUCKS! Take the MF'er to small claims court and get a judgement against him for what ever his insurance doesn't pay to fix it. I feel your pain - my 65 F100 got side swiped one night but they never caught the a-- ho--.

I just got a copy of the Police report and the car she was driving was a 2008 Honda Civic. To top it off it looks like one of the insurance agents in town is her mother in law.

The real fun kicker, her myspace page says she loves anything that has to do with Budweiser, or Jagermeister and Red Bull.

That really sucks!!!! Hopefully, you'll get enough cash to fix it. Whenever the hell I get my old 77 done, I'm not going to want to take it out of the garage.

Sorry to hear about your truck Darin. I'm with George, drop the hammer on her! Do you have a pic of the damage? If you do, post it in here, so we can share your pain!

I will work on gettin some pics posted, she is only 28. I spose since she hit the truck hard enough to reshape the rear springs the frame is probably bent also.

Here is a link that I hope will work: cornfedp - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

You can see right behind the gas cap the bed had made contact with the cab. I suppose that is why my cab is tweaked from left to right. Also note she was nice enough to reshape my leaf springs. She may not look like much but I have poured a lot of time and money into the mechanicals. Next year was to start the bodywork.
