1990 2.9 help!

im going to do the check on that tfi module tomorrow. i have a funny feeling that might be the issue as when i chked the distributor tonight when i turned it slightly, the engine would start to stall, i dont know if turning the whole assembly changes the ignition timing or not, maybe someone can verify that for me?? if it doesnt, im thinking maybe one of the wires going to that tfi module might be going bad in which case when i turn it it acts up??
what bugs me is it seems to idle fine while its sitting, just driving it feels like its chugging or missing, but it comes and goes. also something i thought of is, i moved from halifax nova scotia, to cold lake alberta, which is farther north by quite a bit, plus i switched to 91 octane.... could the higher air pressure and the higher octane be affecting it under load?? not igniting properly?
its just an idea, its also not throwing out any codes at all anymore, i was hoping if the tfi was actually faulting it would throw a code again, if thats what caused it in the first place.
kinda stuck in the crossroads right now, i guess ill chk the fpr to see if theres gas where theyre shouldnt be like you mentioned. and test the tfi if i can get the damn thing out, dunno how as it is really REALLY cramed in there.
thanks for any light you can shed on this tigerdan,
