Do you know where the guy got the actuator and wire connector?

 

EBay for like $6-7 for the actuator and connector.

 

This is a good way to mod the tailgate lock, cause it locks it like the key would. The other way is to lock the tailgate handle from opening all the way. Auto wreckers have the actuators for cheap 2-5 bucks might be slightly different but do the same thing.

 

Don't all tailgates have a key lock ? to stop theft of the gates
but electric would be cool

 

The lazy man's way to lock it.

 

This is a cool mod post. I took the easier more expensive route by purchasing a kit with bracket, etc. It was different in that it did not tie directly to the key lock but rather actuated to mechanically prevent the door handle from operating. Works great.

I would be interested in seeing more on the video install has that is tops on my mod list right now. Know where to find?
