6cyl flywheel ring gear?

Anyone have a source for a new one? How about a good used one?

Have a friend with junk ring gear and it's really a pain to start car sometimes. Most searches have come up empty. V8 stuff is plentiful, but not sure how interchangable it is?

Any help would be great.

Is it worn on one side only? I have several times in my life removed the ring gear, turn it over and heat it up with a propane torch, just to where it boils spit, and it will drop right back on with a new surface facing the starter.

Well, haven't actually seen it yet. Not sure if worn or has missing teeth. I was going to flop it for him once he gets it apart, but would like to know if they make a new one in case we need it.
