I had to put a new altinator in my truck. Then I found out it was wired wrong. Well when I was at the parts store the clerck tod me about Che** altinator that is one wire. I put it in ran the wire to the battery and I was done. I hate to say that it was so easy.
BUT! If the regulator goes out you have to replace the whole thing. Personally I've had one alternator go out on me...three regulators (well, one was a bad when I got it out of the box).

LOL....I can give you an alternate terminology that may help you sleep at night.....
Instead of telling people that you are running a GM alternator, simply tell them you are running a marine or an agricultural alternator and you'll be in the clear.
