My new 6.7 is burning oil !!! Very disappointed.

After owning my 6.7 for under a week, I was disappointed to check the oil just now and find that at least 2 quarts is missing, only having put 400 km on the truck so far.

The truck has been good so far, but I cant believe where the oil went
It hasnt even been smoking,

I hate to say it, but I may be returning the 6.7 and begging for my 02 7.3 back...

They sold 50 of them in canada, I was on the list since a year ago.

It is awesome, except that it seems to like engine oil...and diesel...

edit: they are made in windsor, ontario.

Yeah, it is only a lease, they didnt want to outright sell them, but its mine for 2 years anyways.
Hopefully it gives me 2 years of solid performance, cause my 02 only had a few more 288$ payments, compared to 474$ for the lease on the new one.

Its a SRW extended cab, just like my 02 was.

I'll be posting pictures probably tomorrow, if not tonight.

The 6.7 has a really simple appealing look, and theres actually more room in the engine compartment than the 6.4, although theres lots of wiring all over.

It can take a while for the rings to seat and seal properly. Be sure to follow the break in procedures and I wouldn't use a full synthetic oil for the first 5-10k miles. How is the power on it? What is the HP rating of the motor?

WOW! I didnt know they were out yet either! Boy will the guys around here be impressed when I was some info on the 6.7. Yeah how is the power in that thing? I test drove one of the 6.4's and it had a lot of get up and go. Hows the fuel mileage(hopefully better than the 6.4!!!) and is it twin turbo'd? If it is, is the second turbo under the cab like the 6.4's? I hadnt looked into this motor much cause I didnt figure it would be out yet.

There's an article in another thread with 6.7L details. They have reversed the heads so the exhaust ports are on the inside at the engine valley. This lets it feed directly into twin sequential turbos located in the engine valley, not behind the engine! This sounds like a pretty cool setup, I'd love to see some pics of it.

Parkland, if you have one of these, we're going to run you out of town real quick if you don't get some pictures up and start sharing a little more info about how the emissions stuff is set up.

I'm starting to think he does have a 6.7, but it's of the Dodge variety. If so, I imagine this thread will be gone fairly soon.

You guys are probably right! I got overly excited there for a minute. Thanks cartman. I'll have to check that out. Maybe one of these days they will make a PSD that will suit me and if my rich uncle gets out the poor house I will buy a new one.
