352 street mods
#2
Most common mod is to pull it and replace with a 390 or 428; 427 if you can find one or a stroker version of the 390 or 428.
Back to the 352. Stock as in a low-po low compression truck engine, or stock as in 10.5:1 4bbl premium fuel early-mid '60s car?
FE basics pretty much start with headers as the stock manifolds are pathetic. From there, 4bbl intakes, some stockers, some aftermarket depending on what you find or $ you want to spend, then cam, heads etc.
If you are low compression, of course bringing up to 9.5 : 1 makes it more better.
Pretty much any FE mod transfers to any other FE, so if you read some of the build up threads that will get you started. There are also a couple of books recommended here, maybe someone will post those or you'll find them.
Or search for author "Steve Christ".
So, what are you starting with, how deep into the engine do you want to go, what's the budget like?

Well, you can certainly double the output of your motor with a few of the right parts. And use the same or less gas.
Or you can go with the bigger motor. Some say you can overbore the 4.00 352 to the 4.05 of the 390. Even if you go .030, you're good there with your block.
Then, if you get a crank from a 390 or 410/428, you can get a bigger engine out of it.
Combo info here:
FE Engine C.I.D. Combinations
And read the FAQ at the top of this forum, and read through for proven build ideas.
Good luck, take your time.
