How old are the flex lines between the frame and the wheel cylinders? I had problems because the lines began to collapse and leave pressure on the front wheel cylinders. Cheap and easy fix - once I found the problem. Bleed at the wheel cylinder and then at the frame end of the flex line. If there is a substantial difference that could be the problem.

If you don't have the cash to go all out I'd say get the dual master with power booster and then find the disc upgrade you want to go with. Why? First, my 66 merc has all drums with power dual master and it'll put you through the windshield seatbelt on or not. Drums adjusted right only fade with prolonged use as mentioned before. Second, if you're going to go disc up front, you might as well consider improving other areas of handling via independant suspension. This is not something to rush into, but your average disc/ifs setup requires a separate mc/power booster anyway. Buying the mc/pb first allows you to spread out the cost of your upgrade, gives you the greatest improvement upfront, and gives you time to make an informed decision and not jump into anything prematurely.
My $.02.

Do you plan on moving the MC to the firewall or leaving it below the floor? That makes a difference on which MC you use and also the residual pressure valves and proportioning valve.
I have a power single circuit MC on the firewall now with stock drums and it will put you into the dash hard during a panic stop if you aren't careful.

The pressure requirements for disc are much higher than drum. Thus the need for the split system or valve.
Good luck with this. There's an answer, you are on the way to finding it.
