New guy pulling 5th wheel camper w/F-150 - GA
OK, standard new guy intro here.
My 2007 5.4 F-150 is my 2nd Ford truck, the first was a 1994 Ranger I put 267,000 miles on before I sold it to the Preachers Kid at my church. Preacher has stopped me several times in the hall to say, with a big smile on his face, what a "Sweet little ride" that Ranger still is. 4.0L w/5 speed manual tranny. NO rust, everything still works.
I sold it because it will not pull a 5th wheel camper. Got the F-150 and admittedly am pushing the 8600 pound limit at about 7900 pounds. Pin weight about 1000 pounds. Pulls OK but the tranny gets a little warm. That's what sent me looking for this forum.

Looking forward to getting my towing and tranny questions answered!

Nice to have you here!
That a impressive story about your Ranger. I had a 88 and hated to sell it since it would go anywhere (well I did get it stuck a time or two but it also went places no one else had ever gone before). Take care of your tranny on your 07 and of course you can find all kinds of help on the boards.
