Help Identifying 94.5 and 94 model 7.3
Im looking to buy a 94 F350 with a 7.3 Diesel. My question is how do I know if this truck is a 94 or 94.5 and what is the big difference? Thanks in Advance?

94=idi mechanic injection 94.5=powerstoke di electro & oil injectors

easy to tell, injectors on outside of heads on the older ones.

Take a look at the VIN. If the eighth digit is a "K" it's a 94 IDI, if it's an "F" it's a 94.5 with a PSD.

And if it's an auto it's an IDI. 1st year Powerstrokes only had the ZF5.

The drivers side valve cover will have the info you need. If it says T44E its a powerstroke and if it says A185 then its a IDI.

The emission label on a Powerstroke is on the right valve cover and lists the model as A215, T444E is the IH name and isn't used on a PSD

hoe bout the label on the truck " electronic direct injection" he says its on the tailgate and vavle cover?
